The BeatSwap Meet... SURPRISE!!

The BeatSwapMeet was definitely eye-opening for me in that kids and folks I would never suspect do dig and have it strong grasshoppers. DOPE!! I'm feeling the fact that OG heads as well as young, new cats all overstood what the BSM was all about in this day and age of change.

Within the 6 hours of Beat Swap Meet this past Sunday March 9th, we were shown the possibilities of digital music’s nostalgic alternative: a conscious denial of everything digital and a re-embracing of vinyl and analog listening tools and products... just food for thought... however, digital music rocks my digital and analog worlds as much as analog music rocks my analog and digital worlds.

Will we see an increase in sales of portable turntables and a decline in iPod and mp3 players? (Probably not)… Perhaps, instead of car adapters for mp3 players, we’ll ask radio shack for “vinyl killers” (highly doubt it)…
Perhaps a new day has dawned for music collecting and Hip Hop conservation in Los Angeles and the world to follow (Yes). Convenience-Shmenience!!
Although some would argue, “if it aint broke, don’t fix it!” the divide between Serato users and Anti-Serato warriors seems to widen with each technological advancement. The differences exist in ideological thinking, however, the end result is usually the same… dope music made by people who love to make it.
